The Destiny beta has attracted the attention of countless players, especially now that it is completely open to all, and the majority of us have seen all there is to see in the beta. That is, until now. Bungie has announced that the Moon will be opening up for a limited time today, giving everyone a chance to explore a whole new environment. Up until now, the Moon has been restricted from Guardians looking to travel outside of Russia, with a “Requirements Not Met” message staring them back in the face when attempting to access the Level 6 mission titled “The Dark Beyond”.
Starting at 2PM PDT and running until 4PM PDT, this new story mission will be available to beta participants. You can view Bungie’s official announcement via their Weekly Update below:
“We’re even sending you on a new story mission. For this one, you’ll be glad you scrounged that jump drive from the wastes of the Cosmodrome. You don’t need us to tell you where you’re headed. We’ve marked it on the map since the moment when the Beta Build became a secret whispered about by only our friends and family. This new destination will be open to you for two hours.”
In addition to the new limited-time playground, anyone who participates in the beta stress test during this time will be given a special nameplate that will separate your Guardian from the rest come launch, which I’ve included for your viewing pleasure.
You can explore all that Destiny has to offer when it launches on September 9th on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
