Destiny Hits 25 Million Registered Users

Activision Blizzard have revealed that Destiny has reached 25 million registered users, an increase of 5 million from the 20 million registered users in May. Destiny also has the honor of being the most watched console game on Twitch, according to the company.

The Taken King, which launched on September 15th, marked Destiny’s third expansion, following The Dark Below and House of Wolves. The biggest expansion so far, The Taken King added an all-new raid, a better overall narrative, an increased level cap, swords, and a reworking of the notorious Light Level, to name a few. All the changes meant that The Taken King received positive reviews, and its undoubtedly been the major contributing factor to the significant increase in Destiny’s registered users.

With regards to Activision Blizzard, they announced that they generated a net revenue of $1.04 billion in the three months ending September 2015, a decrease on the $1.17 billion made in the same period of time last year. However, the company saw an increase in the net revenue generated from digital sales, receiving a record $679 million. This accounted for the majority of the company’s revenue, 67% to be precise, a stark contrast with 38% in 2014.
