DICE is determined to make Star Wars Battlefront 60FPS on all platforms that it had to make some sacrifices with the resolution for the game.

Technical director for the Frostbite engine, Johan Andersson, said a few things about Star Wars Battlefront when he answered several fans questions on this official Twitter account.

Here’s what he said about the frame rate: “Frame rate & fidelity is indeed king, dont want to sacrifice it for resolution. but a choice each game team does.”

This was in response to several people upset about the resolution of the game on PS4 and Xbox One. The beta for the game is underway and it has been revealed that it’s 720p on Xbox One and 900p on PS4.

Some people are still annoyed because 720p and 900p were also the resolutions for Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline on the Xbox One and PS4 as well. They had hoped the engine would have been optimized better since it has been two years since the release of Battlefield 4.

Although there are a number of gamers that feel 60FPS is more important than the resolution. After all, Star Wars Battlefront is a fast-paced shooter and the frame rate is important for that genre.
