Digimon Survive Producers Interview Video Reveals New Details About Game

Digimon Survive was first announced last summer and not much new information about the game has really come about in the time since. We’re hoping to hear more with E3 coming up next week, but Bandai Namco has given us something new courtesy of a producers interview for Digimon Survive in the meantime.

Bandai Namco posted the below video to their YouTube channel, which starts off with Digimon Survive Producer Kazumasa Habu discussing the history of Digimon games from the beginning and all the way up through the more recent Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth series and Digimon World: Next Order. About six minutes into the interview, the focus shifts to Digimon Survive itself, with some gameplay footage and concept art being shown as Habu speaks.

Habu explains that rather than come up with a brand new gameplay style for Digimon Survive, they instead utilized old tactical RPG and adventure game styles for the gameplay. Assistant Producer Katsuaki Tsuzuki then takes over for a bit and dives more into the gameplay mechanics as a whole. These definitely look very different for a Digimon game, but it looks like they will still fit very well into the world of Digimon.

Digimon Survive is set to release for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. No release date has been given for the game outside of 2019 in the past though, so perhaps that is the type of information we may get at E3 next week.
