Bethesda recently revealed that the fans would be able to decide what the reverse box art would be to the disappointing standard art for the upcoming reboot of Doom, and now that poll has come to a close and the winner has been revealed.
The publisher allowed fans to vote between two different pieces of artwork for the reverse box art, with the first being more sparse with a dark and demonic figure on the front and a satanic symbol on the back. You can check it out below.
The second choice was a throwback to the artwork from the series’ beginnings, with a very retro and detailed piece of art that moves from the back, through the spine and to the front of the cover. You can check it out below.
Artwork 2 beat out artwork 1 by a pretty solid margin, getting 68% of the vote compared to artwork 1’s 38%. Over 60,000 people voted in the poll, which was only active for a few days.
Doom is set to launch for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on May 13th.
