Driveclub has been in the news a lot lately, and not for good reasons. Evolution Studios has seen staff cuts, and the studio recently lost the game’s Director, Col Rodgers. Following the announcement of his departure from Sony, Rodgers’ name once again hit the headlines with “insider rumors.”

Alleged insiders have been making a lot of claims recently, and while some have been correct, this most recent one that claims Rodgers “failed to deliver” on Driveclub, is incorrect and “libellous”, according to the developer.

Rodgers recently joined NeoGAF to clear the air, and claims that “Everything he has said with regard to myself and Driveclub is incorrect. It’s also libellous,” Rodgers said in regards to comments made by “insider”, Pete Dodd.

Rodgers says that the reason he left Evolution had more to do with familial circumstances, rather than anything related to his performance as Driveclub’s director. Rodgers says, “I live 220 miles away from Evolution Studios, and was away from home 5.5 days a week. Given the circumstances, I could not continue to work there.”

Dodd has since offered a Bit of Clarity on the slip-up, and an apology to Rodgers for what was essentially dragging the developer’s name through the mud. NeoGAF issued Dodd a lifetime ban from the site.
