Dynasty Warriors 9 was first announced late last year and was finally confirmed for PS4 just the other day, with it stated that they were only about 40% complete. Even with a release date not confirmed, some new talk about the game’s performance has come out that reveals the game will have a couple options to choose from.

The director for Dynasty Warriors 9, Atsushi Miyauchi was just interviewed by Gamer.com.tw, which has been translated by Gematsu, and in that interview came some very interesting details about the game.

With the recent announcement that Dynasty Warriors 9 is exclusive to PS4, this means they were able to build the game just for PS4 from the start. This differs from Dynasty Warriors 8 that was an improved port of the PS3 version of the game.

As a result of being able to be developed specifically for PS4, this means they have also been able to build the game around the power of the PS4 Pro as well.

According to Miyauchi, Dynasty Warriors 9 will offer two modes for those playing on PS4 Pro. This will be a 4K mode that runs at 30fps, as well as a 1080p option that runs at 60fps. With a game like Dynasty Warriors that is full of massive battlefields of enemies, this is definitely going to make the experience all the more smooth.

The interview also revealed that Omega Force and Koei Tecmo have no plans for online multiplayer elements in the game, with it stated that this means no asynchronous multiplayer as seen in games like Bloodborne and the recent Nioh.

Dynasty Warriors 9 is definitely shaping up to be the biggest entry in the series with all 83 warlords from Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires set to return alongside an unannounced number of new warlords as well. Even with the game only 40% at this point, hopefully we’ll get more of a glimpse at the game during E3 next month.
