Star Fox Zero, the newly revealed Wii U version of the classic space shooter, will feature a wide array of vehicles according to the reveal trailer.
Showing the classic Arwing, along with the returning tank from Star Fox 64, a few other options were shown. A hovering style flying vehicle called the Gyrowing appeared for a bit, with some more flashing by too quickly to tell what they were.
This certainly isn’t new for the long running franchise, with the aformentioned Star Fox 64, and a wide variety in later games. However some of those later games left fans bitter over the way it took focus off the classic fighter action.
Those games were mostly made outside of Nintendo proper though, which doesn’t seem to be the case for Star Fox Zero, which is under direct management of Shigeru Miyamoto.
It seems like Star Fox Zero won’t repeat the same mistakes of the past, with all of the vehicles looking to enhance the base shooter action, instead of replace it as some previous entries have.
