During Microsoft’s E3 press conference we finally got the release date and confirmation for Halo Wars 2, the sequel to the spin-off game that released on Xbox 360. The game surprisingly will not be seeing its release this year, instead launching for Xbox One and PC on February 21st.
The game was originally set to launch in the 4th quarter of this year, though it looks like they’ll need a little extra time to polish it up. More information will be coming soon, though it is expected that the game will have a season pass and a deluxe edition if prior leaks are to be believed.
The game is being developed by Creative Assembly and 343 Industries, marking the first entry in the series since 2009. Creative Assembly is known for working on the popular Total War series, which will surely go a long way towards making the sequel even better.
Halo Wars 2 will launch for Xbox One and PC on February 21st, 2017, and you can check out the new trailer below.
