EA CEO Speaks Out On People Disliking Women In FIFA 16

by Damian Seeto

EA has now spoken out to the many people that didn’t like the announcement of women being added to FIFA 16.

EA CEO, Peter Moore, tweeted out how he’s disappointed in a portion of FIFA 16 fans hating on the addition of women.

He said: “So sad to see the misogynistic vitriol following @EASPORTSFIFA announce re. women in the game. We are better than this

The unfortunate thing about this is that it’s not a small portion of FIFA 16 fans hating the addition of women either. If you look at the announcement trailer on YouTube, over 46,000 people like the move, but a sizable 13,000 fans thumbed the video down.

As for comments about the addition of women in FIFA 16, a lot of people on YouTube and Twitter have been saying some pretty nasty stuff. I won’t go into detail on what people have posted, but some of the tamer ones are just people protesting that they aren’t buying the game now. Others are saying EA should have concentrated their efforts on the gameplay instead of adding women.

It’s interesting how the addition of women in FIFA 16 has been seen as a negative thing to a portion of the gaming audience. In contrast, WWE fans usually feel the WWE 2K games don’t add enough female wrestlers to the roster each year…
