EA is confident that Star Wars Battlefront will not suffer any type of delay that will push back the game to a 2016 release date.
EA made this announcement during its most recent financial conference call. The company’s CEO, Andrew Wilson, said that Star Wars Battlefront is “fully playable” at the state it is in right now. He feels the game will be ready for its November 17th, 2015 release date.
Wilson is also confident that DICE has learned from its mistakes from the Battlefield 4 launch. He feels Star Wars Battlefront will not suffer the same fate. Hopefully the game’s online components are bug free when fans buy the game this November. Another buggy launch for a AAA video game would not look good for the industry…
EA might see a dip in sales if Star Wars Battlefront were to be delayed until 2016. The hype machine for Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens is still rolling. November is a perfect time to release a game like Battlefront so fans are hyped for the movie’s release in December.
Speaking of sales, EA expects Star Wars Battlefront will sell around 9-10 million copies. They based their estimation on previous Battlefront games and also the Battlefield series too.
