Electronic Arts has no games in development for the Wii U. According to a report out of Kotaku, the mega-publisher is no longer working on any titles for Nintendo’s recently released platform. After supporting the console heavily at launch with a number of titles, it appears that EA has backed away from the struggling system.

“We have no games in development for the Wii U,” said an EA spokesperson. We knew it was getting bad for the Wii U when EA announced that its long-running Madden franchise would not arrive on the platform, but zero games in development from one of the largest third-party publishers could spell another drought of games for the platform.

Despite releasing Mass Effect 3, Fifa 13, Madden 13, and Need For Speed: Most Wanted on the platform, it looks like EA isn’t going to be porting over any more of their titles to the machine, at least not that will arrive in the forseeable future.

Perhaps they are waiting for the sales numbers to rise for the Wii U, as these comments shouldn’t be interpreted as the company abandoning the platform completely.
