EA Play 2019 is officially coming to LA later this year. Marking the fourth such event, this is EA’s own celebration of their upcoming games outside of E3 proper. This year’s EA Play will take place in LA once again, starting on June 7th and going till the 9th. One big departure is taking place though, with EA Play 2019 forgoing the usual press conference in favor of multiple livestreams across the entire event.

“This year you’ll see less talk and more play, with an event entirely focused on the heartbeat of EA PLAY: our player communities and the games they love,” reads the announcement. Promising hands-on with new games, exclusive content from online creators, and free admission, EA Play 2019 looks to be the biggest yet.

“It all starts this year on Friday night, June 7, 2019, with an all-new EA PLAY kickoff event. We’re skipping the press conference this year and are replacing it with multiple live streams that will air during the first two days of the event, bringing you more of what you’ve told us you want – more gameplay and insights from the teams making the games.”

It makes sense for EA to skip the typical press conference, as they’ve not had much success with them as of late. Last year’s in particular was cited by fans as a bit of a mess. How well will the promised live streams fill the gap? Find out in June.
