The Sims Social, SimCity Social, and Pet Society are being shuttered by Electronic Arts. The company cites that the reason for dropping support of the social games, is that they’ve seen a lack of interest from players saying that “activity has fallen off”.

The company says that it will continue to push games to the social network however. EA appears to be focused on using PopCap to entice Facebook users to play Bejeweled Blitz, Solitaire Blitz, and the recently-announced Plants vs. Zombies Adventures.

EA says that it will be making a special offer to fans of these soon-to-be retired titles, hoping to give players a chance at playing the titles. The last day for these social titles will be June 14th, 2013.
