Early Captain America: Civil War Box Office Prediction Is Massive

With the glowing reviews that Captain America: Civil War has been receiving, the Box Office tracking for the film has been trending upwards. The movie could have the second largest opening weekend in North American Box Office history.

Heroic Hollywood’s Umberto Gonzalez reported on early tracking numbers for Captain America: Civil War. He notes that the film is anticipated by a lot of people from different demographics. This includes people both young and old and moviegoers from various ethnicities.

According to his report, he feels the movie will have no problem grossing well over $200 million in its opening weekend. He feels the movie could go as far as grossing over $220 million. Gonzalez has seen the movie already and notes it’s a crowd-pleaser and should be received well by a lot of people and not just critics.

There are many factors as to why Civil War will open bigger than Avengers: Age of Ultron. First of all, the movie is getting better reviews. Ultron’s reviews were okay, but it was average at best. Not to mention the addition of Spider-Man and Black Panther ups the excitement factor.

The other reason is that Civil War’s opening weekend is free from competition. Ultron’s Saturday gross last year was hampered by the boring Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight. This is why that film failed to beat the first Avengers movie’s opening weekend.

It’s unlikely Captain America: Civil War will beat Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens’ opening weekend of $248 million, but it should be in second place if the tracking numbers are accurate.
