The Elder Scrolls VI Is ‘Years And Years’ From Coming Out

The Elder Scrolls VI won’t be coming out anytime soon according to Bethesda. It sounds like you will have to wait a very long time in order for it to come out.

A fan asked Bethesda’s Pete Hines via Twitter if there is an estimated release window for The Elder Scrolls VI. Hines gave this deflating answer: “Nope. Years and years“.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim came out in 2011 and it’s been five years without a sequel. If another five years goes by, we might not see the sixth game until the year 2021!

To add more bad news, Hines further emphasized that Bethesda is not actively working on The Elder Scrolls VI at the moment. He mentioned on Twitter: “We aren’t working on TES6 at the moment“.

Judging by interviews that Bethesda gave during E3 2016, they are working on two other video games instead that are supposed to be new IPs. It’s likely those games will be coming out in the next few years before the sixth Elder Scrolls ever sees the light of day.

For now, people will have to just look forward to the Skyrim remaster coming out later this year for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One platforms.
