Ever since Dodge Roll Games released their excellent 2D bullet game Enter the Gungeon a few years ago, it’s been the talk of the gaming community. In a market dominated mostly by AAA titles and overhyped launches, Dodge Roll found a way to encompass everything near and dear to them and apply it to this wonderful indie title and continue to survive. It’s still a blast to play right now, which is why fans were sad when the company announced that the next major update would be the last one, essentially ending support for the game. That add-on, A Farewell to Arms, is available right now and just like the other updates, it’s absolutely free.

The add-on includes two brand new playable characters The Gunslinger and the Paradox. Gunslinger is a bit of a mystery as he doesn’t appear to have any special abilities, only that his starting weapon is broken. Paradox is also a bit of an enigma as they don’t have an original set, instead starting with a random gun, and a random item. In addition to these new Gungoneers, the update also buffs a lot of weapons making them more reliable as well as adding a plethora of guns, items, and synergies to the fold. Oh, you can also pet dogs now which is arguably the best part of this update.

Their is also a new secret room called the RNG Department that is filled withe new enemies and another tough boss. Lastly, their a new mode called Rainbow Mode where it adds a rainbow chest to each floor and allows you to pick one item from it. However, the item you pick is the only item you can get for the entire area, so choose wisely. It’s been a fun and wild ride with Enter the Gungeon, and while we are sad to see support for the game come to an end, their is no doubt that fans will continue to play this title for years to come.

Enter the Gungeon: A Farewell to Arms is now available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. You can check out the launch trailer here:
