Final Fantasy 15 director, Hajime Tabata, revealed in a new interview the amount of freedom that gamers will have while driving vehicles in the upcoming RPG.
Tabata was interviewed by German magazine Games Aktuell (via NovaCrystallis) where he talked more extensively about the Regalia which is the main vehicle that Noctis and the gang will ride on. As you may have seen in the trailer released last month, it can also fly too.
The Regalia will only fly towards the end of the game which is traditional for Final Fantasy games. Tabata also mentioned that when the Regalia is in flight mode, it will allow you to gain access to areas that were previously off limits. This could mean you can fly to areas with new bosses or other secrets that the game may have.
Final Fantasy 15 will also allow you to ride in a boat, however it will only occur in one trip in the entire game according to Tabata. He said: ” “[It’s] like a real journey. I want to express that feeling and want players to remember it. It should feel like a boat trip from France to the cliffs of Dover.”
The game will be out worldwide on September 30th, 2016 for the PS4 and Xbox One consoles. Square Enix won’t be releasing it on PC until they are finished with the console versions.
