Final Fantasy 15’s Delay Won’t Result In More Collector’s Editions Being Made

It was recently revealed that Final Fantasy 15’s release date had been pushed back two months, knocking it out of a late September release to a late November release. However, with the two month delay some were wondering if maybe this would allow for more of the sold-out collector’s editions of the game to be made, though that does not appear to be the case.

However, that’s not to say that Square Enix did not at least try to utilize the extra time to try and release more collector’s editions. The official Final Fantasy 15 Twitter account revealed that they looked into pressing more collector’s editions of the game, but were told that they would not be able to. While an official reason for being denied was not given, the two months time likely still wasn’t enough to have them ready by the new launch date.

These collector’s editions of the game have proven to be a hotly-requested item, as the initial run of them sold out so quickly that they ended up getting an extended print run. Unsurprisingly, those sold out equally as fast and there are still many people out there unable to purchase them.

Final Fantasy 15 is set to launch for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 29th.
