Final Fantasy Type-0 HD Ships Over 1 Million Copies

Square Enix has just announced that Final Fantasy Type-0 HD has now shipped over 1 million copies worldwide.

The official Final Fantasy Twitter page made the announcement in Japanese. It said: “Congratulations. Cumulative shipments of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD has surpassed over one million units worldwide“.

The rest of the tweet thanked everyone that bought and supported Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. It also confirmed that the next Active Time Report will be scheduled on April 28th. We may hear even more news on Final Fantasy XV at the end of the month.

The tweet also included the above picture with Ace from Final Fantasy Type-0 HD and Noctis from Final Fantasy XV posing together. Square Enix is thankful to the one million fans that bought the game.

The success of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is thanks to the inclusion of the Final Fantasy XV demo. Despite competition in March with the likes of Battlefield Hardline and Bloodborne, Type-0 HD still managed to find a sizable audience.

It will be interesting to see if Square Enix goes ahead with a sequel to Final Fantasy Type-0. The company expressed interest in a sequel if the HD remake proved to be a success. Shipping one million units isn’t shabby, so hopefully Square Enix is at least considering a sequel.
