Square Enix has certainly increased the promotional push for the upcoming Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age. This time, the company has shared a new trailer that highlights some of the most emotional moments and the complexities of the story. Final Fantasy XII is a tale of empires, politics and treason, in the best tradition of other games set in the world of Ivalice, like Final Fantasy Tactics.
In the extensive video opening of the game, we see how the kingdom of Dalmasca falls under the attack of the Archadian Empire. Given for dead, princess Ashe sets on a journey with a particular group of companions, including a traitor and a sky pirate, to obtain an old power long forgotten that could be used to reclaim the freedom of her kingdom.
The trailer showcases the new version of the soundtrack, re-recorded with a full orchestra especially for this new edition of the game. Aside of the new version of the original tracks, the soundtrack of The Zodiac Age will include eight brand new songs that can be previewed here.
This new PS4 edition of Final Fantasy XII will feature a long list of new additions compared to the original PS2 release, including a new job class system and a new Trial Mode. Another good reason to support the game is that Square Enix would be open to develop another Final Fantasy set in the world of Ivalice if The Zodiac Age sells well.
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age will be released on July 11th for PS4.
