Activision is taking an unprecedented approach to marketing downloadable content on the Xbox 360 this weekend. The company is offering players the ability to play the Revolution DLC free of charge, all weekend long. After the weekend is up, players will want to decide whether or not they want to keep access to the content by paying for it.
Activision’s Dan Amrich spread the news earlier. The news was tucked into a title update for Black Ops 2 which also gives players the opportunity to vote on the styles of new personalization packs.
“For those of you who don’t have it already, we’re offering Revolution as a free trial from Friday May 24th (10 am/PDT) through Tuesday, May 28th (10 am/PDT), so jump online and try it out!”
The content isn’t live just yet, and Amrich could not confirm whether or not the promotion would extend to other platforms like the PS3 or PC at this time.
