News about Kingdom Hearts 3 has been sporadic ever since it was first announced back at E3 2013. Thankfully, some fresh details about the game will be revealed next month.

The Koalition has a chance to speak with Hironori Okayama who is the producer for the smartphone title Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ recently. During the interview, Okayama confirmed that we should be hearing of some news about Kingdom Hearts 3 at E3 2016 this June.

Not too much about the game has been revealed other than just a few worlds and characters that are returning. Reportedly, English voice overs have been recorded, but it is far from being finished.

There is a lot of speculation from fans that Square Enix might be able to acquire more than just Disney characters in the game as the company now owns the Marvel and Star Wars franchises. It could happen as Disney Infinity has all of these characters all in one game with one another.

What we do know is that you shouldn’t expect to see Kingdom Hearts 3 to come out in the year of 2016. Square Enix reiterated it was concentrating on releasing Final Fantasy 15 first which will be out on September 30th, 2016. At this rate, the third Kingdom Hearts game could be out in 2017 at the earliest.
