Despite being a very old game, Grand Theft Auto V has managed to be on top of the UK video game charts once again.
GFK Chart-Track says this is the first time that Grand Theft Auto V is on top of the UK video game charts since March 2015. The game has been on the charts for an astounding 150 weeks.
Since it’s a week before No Man’s Sky is coming out, sales for Rockstar’s game grew by 31 percent. The game managed to hold off Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End which came in at number 2. Naughty Dog’s game grew by 19 percent.
The rise of GTA V meant sales for LEGO Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens had to drop to number 3. The Star Wars game was on top for 5 consecutive weeks. Unlike other games on the chart, sales dropped by 21 percent.
Rounding out the top five are Overwatch and FIFA 16. There were absolutely no new releases in the top 20 whatsoever. Only older games re-entered the chart and they included EA Sports UFC 2 and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege.
The former’s sales must have had a surge with the upcoming UFC 202 fight happening later this month. Rainbow Six Siege has new DLC which is why the game rose in the sales chart.
