Rockstar has revealed to the world that Grand Theft Auto V is in full development as we speak.  The recent release of the first trailer for the game showed off the beautiful open world environment of Los Santos, the surrounding hills, and beaches of the environment.  Though it won’t just be another run through the park with upgraded graphics.

Rockstar promises to push a “bold new direction in open world freedom, storytelling, mission based gameplay, and online multiplayer” in Grand Theft Auto V.

While there’s a lot of speculation about what will and won’t be included in the next iteration of the GTA franchise, Rockstar has announced that the backstory of Grand Theft Auto V will focus on “the pursuit of the almight dollar”.  To those that are familiar with the franchise, Los Santos won’t be a completely new surprise.  The game will reflect present-day Southern California and draw on real world problems that the region faces.

Analysts predict that GTA V will be arriving in 2012.
