While Rockstar is surely toiling away on GTA 6 behind the scenes, they’re still offering tons of big support for GTA V’s multiplayer component: GTA Online. The next big GTA Online update was just announced, and it’s a huge one for fans of planes and flying around the skies of Los Santos. Dubbed “Smuggler’s Run”, this latest update, which arrives Tuesday, August 29th, adds new planes while opening up the skies to some epic smuggling action.

“Smuggler’s Run opens up the air corridors above Los Santos and Blaine County, providing new business opportunities while introducing a range of planes, choppers and even ultralights as highly viable options for transporting criminal cargo across the state – simultaneously opening up some creative new methods of dispatching any rival gangs along the way,” reads the announcement from Rockstar.

“Smuggler’s Run delivers a massive range of new, customizable aircraft perfect for any mission along with expansive new aircraft hangars in which to stash your fleet of fantastic flying machines. These new properties are also the HQ from which you manage your smuggling business – guided by Nervous Ron and assisted by Charlie, your new mechanic, who’ll take care of your collection of exotic aircraft.”

The developer also detailed some future changes that will hit GTA Online, such as transform races that will actually alter players’ vehicles mid-race. Shift from a water vehicle to a car seamlessly in the middle of a race. Check back for more on this and all future GTA Online content.
