343 Industries has confirmed that the Halo 5: Guardians beta will run at 720p and at 60fps.
Studio Head for Halo 5: Guardians, Josh Holmes, confirmed this during an interview with Eurogamer. He said the beta will run at 720p and 60fps.
He said their main focus for Halo 5: Guardians right now is on the gameplay. For the beta, everything is “focused on gameplay” so it wasn’t too important to concentrate on the graphics at this point in time.
343 Industries is still in the middle of developing Halo 5: Guardians. Currently they are “balancing and tuning the gameplay systems“. Near the end of the development cycle, they will work on the graphics to make sure everything looks pretty.
He said that the 720p and 60fps in the Halo 5: Guardians beta is not the “final resolution for the game“. He assures gamers the final product will look very amazing once they get a chance to polish up the visuals.
People will get a chance to play the Halo 5: Guardians beta in late December. Every copy of Halo: The Master Chief Collection gives you an invite for the beta. Don’t be alarmed if the graphics don’t look great, it’s not what the final game will look like when it hits in the Fall of 2015.
