During the livestream of Halofest, 343 Industries shared some of the first gameplay details on the multiplayer of Halo 5: Guardians.

In Halo 5: Guardians, there will be all-new abilities for Spartans to use during the multiplayer gameplay. Some of the abilities people would have already seen in other games such as Destiny and in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. For the Halo series though, this is very new to the franchise.

Halo 5: Guardians will introduce all-new Spartan abilities. This includes a thruster pack that allows you to glide and boost up to higher levels. You can also use the thrusters to tackle other players on the ground too. It looks pretty similar to the boosters seen in both Destiny and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

Another cool new feature is the “ground and pound”. This is where you jump up in the air and then punch the floor really hard. Again, a new feature to the Halo series, although some gamers may have seen this elsewhere.

The other two new features in Halo 5: Guardians might sound controversial for veterans of the series. There is a sprint feature confirmed as seen in the leaked beta gameplay from yesterday. When you sprint, your shield is more vulnerable. The game will also allow you to aim down your sights for some weapons too.

Do you welcome the new features in Halo 5: Guardians?
