343 Industries is promising once again that the Halo 5: Guardians online multiplayer experience will be ‘rock solid’.
MCV had a chance to chat with Kevin Franklin who is the Design Director for Halo 5: Guardians. The website wanted to know if the game will be smooth at launch.
Franklin said Halo: The Master Chief Collection was a “real learning experience” and a big challenge for the studio. This is because they were implementing both original Xbox and Xbox 360 technology all into one Xbox One video game.
Franklin said the studio has learnt a lot from the matchmaking issues that plagued the release of Halo: The Master Chief Collection. He is promising the experience for Halo 5: Guardians will be “rock-solid“.
He also mentioned the team is committed to ensure the game has a “good experience“. He says nobody at 343 Industries wants to see a troubled multiplayer experience.
The one thing Franklin alluded to is that Halo 5: Guardians is built from the ground-up exclusively for the Xbox One console. Unlike The Master Chief Collection, Guardians is not catering for many game engines at once in one matchmaking session.
343 Industries also did several stress tests over the past year and the beta that was run earlier went quite smoothly too. Hopefully the game’s online is smooth come October 27th.
