Even though there will be multiple Heroes and Villains in Star Wars Battlefront, they can only be playable for a short amount of time.
DICE revealed a few more details on how Heroes and Villains work on the official Star Wars Battlefront website earlier this week. DICE said their goal is for the average player to be a Hero and Villain for up to two minutes at a time.
It works similarly to how it was used in Battlefront 2. Heroes and Villains have health that constantly decreases. You can extend your time on the battlefield by killing enemies though.
DICE said skilled players could see themselves playing as a Hero and Villain character for up to five minutes. They said it’s unlikely you can play as a famous character for the entire duration of the match.
This system makes sense as it evens out the playing field. It will be unfair for everyone if Darth Vader is available all the time force choking everyone and using his lightsaber.
DICE also described in more detail on what it is like playing as Luke Skywalker in Star Wars Battlefront. They noted he is a varied and powerful character that can take out lots of enemies using his lightsaber. His force push ability is also very helpful in getting rid of long distant targets.
