Homefront hit the top of the charts last week when it released for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. Â Kaos Studios and THQ’s debut shooter rocketed to the top of the UK sales charts despite rather mediocre reviews. Â In the same period, Dragon Age II saw a sharp decline quickly dropping behind Homefront to relenquish the number one spot. Â Pokemon White dropped to number 3, while Pokemon Black dropped to fifth overall. Â Other surprising newcomers were Shogun 2: Total War, which entered the UK charts at number four for the week ending March 19th.
While Homefront’s success hasn’t surprised analysts. Â They believe that the game will sell close to two million copies within a month of release. Â It just goes to show that metacritic averages aren’t everything, contrary to popular belief.
