It’s not every day that you see a director talking about a spoiler for a movie this early. Joss Whedon has now commented on a pivotal scene in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Spoilers obviously follow so read at your own discretion.

SPOILER ALERT

Another reminder. Please don’t read this if you don’t want to get spoiled. If you don’t care, then do as you please.

Merlot Mommy did a very unique interview with Avengers: Age of Ultron director, Joss Whedon. They already asked about how and why Quicksilver dies in Avengers: Age of Ultron. This death scene alone has already made a lot of people talking online. Some people speculate that Quicksilver may still be alive somehow.

Whedon said he was setting up nicely to make audiences believe that Hawkeye would die in Avengers: Age of Ultron. He wanted to convince to everyone that Hawkeye was the one to die in this film. He set it up nicely by introducing his family and showing how vulnerable the character can be.

Whedon decided to surprise everyone by killing off Quicksilver in Avengers: Age of Ultron instead. He also said he had expected Disney to come down and ask him to keep the character alive. However, Quicksilver’s death stayed in the movie and he felt it worked really well.

Merlot Mommy asked if there is a chance that Quicksilver is still alive in Avengers: Age of Ultron somehow. They said we didn’t see a gravesite for the character at the end of the movie. Whedon just replied by saying: “We didn’t what? Oh, that’s true.”

Since this is Marvel, there is a small chance that Quicksilver “might” be back in future movies. Although Aaron Taylor Johnson has not signed on for Captain America: Civil War or Infinity War yet.

Do you feel Quicksilver is alive, or is he gone forever?
