Journey will likely be showered with praise during this year’s awards season. Aside from being an absolutely beautiful game, the PlayStation 3 exclusive that wowed critics earlier this year has been recognized at GameCity 2012 as the best game of the year.
This is the second annual GameCity event, where last year, Mojang’s Minecraft took home top honors.
“Thatgamecompany has always focused on making games for everyone,” said Journey’s creator Jenova Chen. “It’s nice to see GameCity recognize our game and give us an award. In the end, we believe that games are a mature media that deserve to be enjoyed and loved by everyone, by people.”
Journey beat out the likes of Fez, Mass Effect 3, and others to take the award.
