Kamala Harris Claims Some Say She Was ‘The Most Qualified Candidate Ever To Run For President’ While Teasing 2028 Bid

She lost to Trump but sure, let's run it back in 2028.

Former Vice President Kamala Harris dropped some hints about possibly running for president again in 2028 during a recent interview with journalist Kara Swisher. When Swisher asked her straight up if she would run in the next presidential race, Harris responded with “Maybe. Maybe not,” which got cheers from the crowd.

As per Fox News, Harris has already said no to running for California governor in 2026, which suggests she might be planning something bigger. During the interview, she talked about what policies she would focus on if she became president, but told Swisher “It’s much too early to have that conversation.”

When talking about her 2024 presidential campaign against Donald Trump, Harris brought up her work experience and background. She ran through her past jobs, including U.S. Senator from California, state attorney general, and district attorney of San Francisco. After Swisher said “That’s a decent resume,” Harris made a big claim, saying that “some people have actually said I was the most qualified candidate ever to run for president.” She added that she was “just speaking fact”.

Looks Like Harris Isn’t Done With Presidential Politics Yet

What Harris said makes it clear she could still be in the running for the Democratic nomination in the next presidential election. Her choice to skip the California governor’s race got a mixed reaction from some Democrats, which makes people think she is saving herself for a bigger race down the road.

Harris talked a lot about her 2024 campaign, which she writes about in her new book called 107 Days. She said she “couldn’t do enough” in the short time she had on the campaign trail. Harris made it clear she wanted people to know about both her personal background and her work history.

When looking back at her time working with President Biden, Harris admitted there were some things she would have changed. She said “I actually, in reflection, one of the things I would have done differently” was that the administration should have worked on the family parts of the Build Back Better plan before doing the infrastructure and CHIPS Act projects.

Harris also called out President Trump’s Department of Justice during the talk, bringing up recent moves against the New York Attorney General. She said Democrats right now need to focus on helping everyday Americans instead of thinking too far ahead about campaigns.

No one knows yet if she will actually run again, but based on what she said, it sounds like she is thinking hard about taking another shot at the White House in 2028.
