Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX Debuts Within Top 5 of UK Charts

This week’s UK charts remain mostly stable compared to last week’s results, with only one new entry, and previous releases holding their positions. At top of the best sellers list we find Mass Effect: Andromeda for a second week in a row, while Square Enix’s mega-compilation Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX debuts at number two of the Individual Formats list, and four in the All Formats, making clear that the brand is still very appreciated by home console owners after spending a decade spreading releases among every portable hardware in the market. The rest of the list is marked by the stability of previous releases, with most of them only slipping a few places from last week.

Mass Effect: Andromeda’s second week at the top of the UK’s best selling list means Bioware’s latest release has matched the record previously established by Mass Effect 2. The third entry could only keep the top spot for one week, even if its sales made up for this chart performance. However, chart placements only tell part of a story, and it’s been previously stated that Andromeda’s sales numbers are currently tracking below the previous two games in the series.

The only important new release of the week is Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, which debuts at number 2 of the Individual Formats list and number 4 in the All Formats list. This compilation of four games is the perfect way for newcomers to get started on the action-RPG series, while we wait for the release of the third main chapter on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Behind that apparently incomprehensible name we find a compilation of four games: Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts 2 and the spin offs Chains of Memories and Birth By Sleep, all four with updated graphics, and now running at 60 FPS. The collection is completed with the cinematics from 358/2 Days and Re:Coded.

This is the second Kingdom Hearts release this year, after January’s Kingdom Hearts 2.8, and it finally achieves the feat of reuniting all games in one console.

The rest of the list is formed by mostly holdovers from previous weeks. Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands, LEGO Worlds and Grand Theft Auto V remain as non-movers at numbers 2, 3 and 5 respectively. As for Nintendo Switch games, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and 1-2 Switch reinforce their positions as the primary titles chosen by new users, as they are the only games from the console that remain in the list.
