The Japanese voice actor for Big Boss in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Akio Otsuka, has confirmed Kojima Productions is being disbanded.
“Kojima Productions is being disbanded. But the struggle of the team is now almost at its end. May this be come the greatest masterpiece without exaggeration! I wanted to say “Kept you waiting” (laughs), but that was the last moment. MGS is immortal!”
As people may know already, Kojima Productions is working hard on Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. After that game’s release in September, the studio and its employees will part ways.
This is a result of Konami “restructuring” its company. Nobody knows why Konami hates Hideo Kojima, but everything started when he said The Phantom Pain will be his last MGS game ever.
This caused Konami to blacklist Kojima by removing his name from the game’s packaging and more. The company wouldn’t even let YouTube’s Angry Joe to mention his name in an E3 interview recently.
Kojima Productions will sadly end for good after Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain comes out. Hopefully they go on to make other new games in the future. Konami will make new MGS games with a new team.
