Much has been said about the future of Konami and Metal Gear Solid without Hideo Kojima. The company’s UK community manager remains optimistic though.

GameonDaily had a chance to interview Graham Day who is the Community Manager for Konami UK. He was asked if it was possible Metal Gear Solid can continue without Hideo Kojima.

Day remained optimistic that a lot can be done with the Metal Gear Solid franchise even without Kojima. He said there is a rich story and lot of characters that can be explored. He used Metal Gear Rising Revengeance as an example of a good MGS game that was done by different people. In this case, it was PlatinumGames that developed the Raiden spin-off.

The other big question that Day answered was if Konami were truly exiting the PC and console gaming market in favor of focusing on only mobile video games. Day responded by saying that you should not “believe everything you hear or read in the press“. He says thing has been taken out of context and they are still committed to making console games.

Day said there mobile games are a part of the future, but there is always a market out there for PC and console gaming. Hopefully Konami announces more consoles games in the future as right now their calendar is blank.
