When Nintendo announced that Luigi’s Mansion 2 would be heading to the 3DS handheld at last year’s E3 Press Conference, fans got excited. This weekend, rumors have suggested that the world’s second most popular plumber could be heading to the Wii U as well.
An online retailer has listed Luigi’s Mansion 2 for the Wii U, and is available for pre-order, suggesting that they know something that noone else does. Nintendo hasn’t hinted that the title would arrive on the Wii U, and last year had a playable demo of the game for the 3DS at E3.
Play.com is the retailer that has the title listed for the Wii U, and it could be an earnest mistake and intended to be listed for the 3DS. Though they wouldn’t be the first retailer to slip early details of an unconfirmed release.
The original Luigi’s Mansion was a launch title for Nintendo’s GameCube console, so launching it with the Wii U would make sense for Nintendo, according to its track record. We’ll have to wait and see if Luigi’s haunted adventure hits the Wii U, and E3 is just around the corner.
