Nintendo has now explained why there has been a shortage of stock for the Majora’s Mask New 3DS and certain Amiibo figures.

During the investor Q&A that Nintendo held earlier this week, Satoru Iwata gave a reason why the New 3DS and Amiibo stock shortages have occurred in the USA recently.

Twitter user, Kyle McLain, kindly translated what Iwata said during the Q&A session with investors.

Iwata mentioned the West Coast Port Strike that has been happening in the USA has affected Nintendo’s stock. This has been the reason why people have had a hard time buying the Majora’s Mask New 3DS system. It is also the reason why some stock for Amiibo figures have been low as well.

The West Coast Port Strikes have not impacted on the stock for Nintendo software however. USA gamers can rest easy that they can still purchase Nintendo video games easily.

The West Coast Port Strikes are still going, and nobody knows when they are going to end. If it continues, stock for New 3DS consoles and Amiibo figures will continue to be low.

Kotaku actually speculated on this before Iwata gave the reason to investors. Their prediction proved to be correct.

Let’s hope the strikes end soon so USA gamers can get the Majora’s Mask New 3DS and Amiibo figures easily.
