Konami announced its financial report for the quarter just ended and it’s no surprise that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is still its strongest performer.

Konami announced the financial report on its official website. As noted by a NeoGAF user, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain shipped 1 million copies over the months of October 2015 until December 2015.

When the game launched in the previous quarter, Konami announced that the game shipped over 5 million copies. This means in total, the game has now shipped over 6 million units worldwide since it came out.

It’s no surprise that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom has been Konami’s best seller. The game received praise from critics and fans alike. Some may have criticized that it didn’t feel like a Metal Gear Solid game, but not many can deny that it excelled in the gameplay department.

As for Konami’s upcoming games, 2016 looks a little bare right now. Apart from a few Yu-Gi-Oh titles for 3DS, iOS and Android devices, there aren’t any other titles that will be released to the West. The only other titles sound like Japanese exclusives.

Konami however it still wanting to develop a AAA Metal Gear Solid game in the future without Hideo Kojima. It will be interesting if the company ever goes through with it.
