Microsoft Teases Small Features In New Xbox One Update Preview

Microsoft continues to add new features to the Xbox One via many updates as the years go by. Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb gave a small preview of what’s to come on social media.

Major Nelson posted over on Twitter: “We’ve heard feedback re: the Xbox One startup chime. Here is a preview of how we’ll address it in an upcoming update“. When you first boot up the Xbox One right now, the startup chime can be loud. The reason they are doing this is because some people have babies/kids that sleep at night so parents don’t want to wake them up.

Major Nelson also posted: “Here is what the drop down options will look like. This option is NOT available yet..it’s coming in a future update“. The new drop down options can be seen in the screenshot we have provided at the top of this article. You will see this soon, but not right now.

These new features might be small, but it shows that Microsoft actually listens to any feedback. I personally don’t think the startup chime is that loud, although I’m not a parent. It’s good to know little things like removing the sound is helpful to other people around the world.
