Mortal Kombat 11 is only a couple weeks away from release, but Netherrealm Studios had not finished unveiling every fighter for the base roster yet. Following the leak a few weeks ago, we were pretty sure that a fan favorite fighter would be returning and the new TV spot for Mortal Kombat 11 just confirmed that for sure.

Each of the trailer reveals for Mortal Kombat 11 so far has been fantastic and have done a great job at showing off just enough of the game without spoiling everything. The latest actually reveals very little throughout most of it, as it instead is focused on showing real life people walking around displaying powers of different characters in the game.

The ending of the trailer is the important part, however, as it reveals that Kitana is back yet again as a playable character in Mortal Kombat 11. The version of Kitana that we see in this trailer is clearly the past version of herself, as the present day one is dead and leads the Netherrealm with Liu Kang.

In addition to this trailer, Netherrealm Studios also revealed the following description of Kitana in Mortal Kombat 11, though it seems to only talk about her present timeline version.

“The 10,000-year-old princess of Edenia grew up believing she was Shao Kahn’s biological daughter and served as one of his deadliest warriors. When Kitana learned the truth, she fought against Shao Kahn’s attempted conquest of Earthrealm, eventually dying in battle. After being resurrected as an evil revenant version of her former self, Kitana now rules the Netherrealm alongside revenant Liu Kang, dedicated to the destruction of all the realms.”

Mortal Kombat 11 releases for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on April 23rd and make sure to check out the TV spot for yourself below as well.
