A Naughty Dog designer has reacted to the blunder of a video game website mistakenly posting a preview for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End based on Uncharted 2.

If you are not familiar with the story, a big British video games website wrote a preview for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Sony had to tell them to take the preview down because they played Uncharted 2 from the remastered collection without knowing about it.

Said website has apologized for the mistake, but this hasn’t stopped many people from reacting to it. Apart from gamers, Naughty Dog itself has reacted to this big blunder.

Naughty Dog co-lead designer, Anthbony Booman, tweeted the following message:  “It’s pretty funny, but it really makes you wonder about games journalism in general that someone could be so disingenuously confident.

Careers and sales ride on this system. It’s great they apologized, but this is still pretty scary to me.

The part that is scaring Booman is that the writer who wrote the preview described themselves confidently as an “Uncharted veteran“. If the preview was written by a person unfamiliar with Uncharted, then the situation would be more forgiving.

One would think an “Uncharted Veteran” would know that they would be playing Uncharted 2 instead of something entirely new. On the other hand, Uncharted 2’s remastered graphics must have been really good for the writer to think it was Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End…
