While developer Harebrained Schemes had originally intended to release the action adventure game Necropolis on PC next month, the company has just revealed that those plans have changed a little.

The reason for this is that they have also revealed that the game will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this Summer, and rather than having a PC version release before then they want to have a simultaneous release for all versions of the game. They’ll be self-publishing the game on Steam and Bandai Namco will handle the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions.

Delving deeper into the reasons for wanting Bandai Namco to handle the console versions, they said that, “Getting that kind of recognition from the publisher of Dark Souls is kind of amazing and we hope it will raise the profile of the game. Bandai Namco knows how to bring games to consoles. They know the technical certification requirements, they know how to work with the PSN and Xbox stores, and they know how to market games to reach the right audience.”

While a solid release date for Necropolis has not yet been revealed, the devs claim that a new release date will be revealed as soon as possible. The game was originally set to launch for PC on March 17th.
