Need for Speed Reboot

Need for Speed Getting a Full Reboot for Fall 2015 – Teaser Trailer Released

This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information

EA has released the first official teaser trailer for their upcoming entry in the Need for Speed series. The game doesn’t have much detail to it just yet, including the official title (which could remain just Need for Speed since it is a reboot), but the trailer gives a good idea of the direction the team is taking the franchise. The new game will be a full blown reboot of the series, with EA saying via press release “The game delivers on what the fans want, and what Need for Speed stands for – deep customisation, authentic urban car culture, a nocturnal open world, and an immersive narrative that pulls you through the game.”

Looking at the trailer you can see these things play out, with a dark, night race taking place on the streets of what will presumably be the open world map of the game. Cops will make a return, offering fast-paced car chases through the streets.

“Need for Speed is one of the most iconic names in gaming, and we’re returning it to greatness in this reboot,” said Marcus Nilsson, Executive Producer at Ghost Games. “Pulling on our 20 years of history, and then taking a year out from releasing a game, we are making the game we’ve always wanted to. We’re listening to the fans and delivering an experience that will capture their imagination and unleash their passion for cars and speed.”

Need for Speed will launch Fall 2015 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Expect a full trailer during E3 2015.
