Nintendo fever seems to be sweeping the nation once again. Millions of people are out, on their phones, trying to catch Pokemon. On top of that the big N is prepping a nostalgic onslaught for later this year in the form of the Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition.
The miniature console looks like the classic NES from the 80’s and will come pre-packaged with 30 games to play on it. We previously heard about the upcoming launch via press release, but now Nintendo has put out the first official trailer. It too is a nostalgic dream, featuring 80’s style graphics and the classic “Now You’re Playing with Power” tagline.
“From your first Goomba stomp to your thousandth victory in FINAL FANTASY, the Nintendo Entertainment System may just be the most nostalgic gaming console ever,” reads the YouTube description. “And now, a new, miniaturized version is here, pre-loaded with 30 of the all-time greatest games, including The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros. 3, and MEGA MAN 2. Just plug it in…and play.”
The NES Classic Edition will arrive in stores on November 11th at a cost of $60. Unfortunately the 30 games that come with it are all it will ever be able to play, with the potential of future releases being shot down by Nintendo. Fans are now hoping for a possible SNES and N64 Classic Edition release.
