The Ghostbusters franchise is set for a comeback again, this time with an all female cast to clean up ghosts! The 2016 reboot/sequel film is due to arrive this upcoming summer in theaters, and stars Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones as the new ghost hunting crew. A rumored video game tie-in is said to be in development, and release alongside the movie.
Retailer NewEgg has the video game listed for pre-order, with a July 12th release date. Which is close to the film’s release date of July 15, 2016. Both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are listed as the available platforms for the game, with Activision as the publisher. No further details have been revealed so far for the Ghostbusters video game, other then a copy and paste description from the 2009 Ghostbusters video game. Which was developed by then Terminal Reality, who closed down in 2013.
It’s rather strange to see a pre-order page for a Ghostbusters video game that hasn’t been officially announced by Activision, or even have a confirmed developer for that matter. For now we’ll wait for an official word from Activision before we go pre-ordering anything, until then be sure to stay tuned for any news regarding the Ghostbusters video game.
