Square Enix and Eidos Montréal revealed a new cinematic for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, this time revealing a better look at the telepathic dog Cosmo and his puppies. The character is only one of the many faces expected to be featured in the game, which promises to really bring both the Guardians and their mythology to life in the new format.

Cosmo, The Space Dog, made his debut in the comics in January 2008, in Nova #4. The dog was originally part of the Soviet Space Program and was sent towards the Earth’s orbit in 1960. After drifting off its course, his capsule was showered by cosmic rays, gifting him his powers. He now acts as the Chief of Security of Knowhere. The Space Dog is capable of both Telepathy and Telekinesis.

In the trailer, which you can check out below, we get to see a curious interaction between Cosmo and the Guardians of the Galaxy, in which he questions them and reacts to a proposition by our heroes. The video also showcases the visual of Cosmo’s puppies, as well as more on the game’s dialogue and choice system, all while maintaining the team’s comic and laid-back style.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy was first revealed just a few months ago, during Square Enix’s presentation at E3 2021, which took place last June. The game will be a third-person action-adventure title in which players will take on, as you could check on the cinematic above, the role of Peter Quill, also known as Star-lord, the leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy, as they rally the team and work to stop a chain of catastrophic events sure to wipe out life as we know and destroy the galaxy.

As you could also check out in the cinematic above, the game will allow players to make choices that will affect not only the group and their dynamic as a whole but also how the story goes on. On Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, players will also be able to explore many environments in their quest, as well as take part in dynamic battles sure to test not only the group’s bonds but also how well they can work together in the field.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is set to be released on October 26, 2021, for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PCs. You can check out our thoughts on the game’s hands-on preview here.
