Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is set to make its landing on the 26th of October later this year. The hype train is continuing to grow for the title, with an increased focus on the gameplay and the story itself of the experience. Today, two new trailers dropped for the game, one concentrating on the combat whereas the other zeroes in on the ‘out of combat’ sections of the game. Marvel’s reign for licensing highly popular franchises has skyrocketed over the last numerous years, with the likes of Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man series already prepping for the next installment. The Guardians of the Galaxy will no doubt make an impressionable mark on the gaming community.

Eidos-Montréal is taking the lead on developing the experience, first revealed at E3 2021 in the Square Enix showcase, it received a variety of reactions and many people are immensely looking forward to Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

The first trailer released today was the combat trailer, showcasing to players new enemies and how the mechanics work for the main playable character, Star-Lord, along with how to utilize all of the Guardians’ abilities by calling them in at any time. It can be seen within the trailer that Rocket focuses on crowd control with the explosives being the key ingredient in Rocket’s deadly attacks, Groot on the other hand can keep enemies held in place with intertwining vines that allow the rest of the team to make their precise attacks on the enemies. Star-Lord can move around the battlefield with efficient ease by using his jet boost and can unlock four elements for his elemental blasters, these can be combined to make brutal combos. Gamora and Drax both eliminate enemies with intensive attacks which will leave a scar on any enemy they encounter…

The second trailer took a look at all of the exciting features included for fans to enjoy within the Marvel universe. The ship that players will use to travel is the ‘Milano’, which will act as the main base hub and can be walked around by your character to talk to the Guardians or simply wander around. A music player can also be spotted at one point in the trailer; time to get back into the music offered by the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise! Notably, exploration plays a major role in the game, with lots of places to discover and exponentially important choices to make. Abilities can be earned and a ‘workbench’ can furthermore be used to upgrade your character’s gear and earn new perks. Outfits can also be equipped and unlocked to have the Guardians look the way you want on the battlefield.

It’s time to make your mark on the Marvel universe. Will you be taking the leap into this cosmically mind-blowing experience?

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy will be available on the 26th of October for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
