Microsoft will be readying its next big Xbox One update very soon and Preview Members should be able to see it before anyone else.
Microsoft’s Mike Ybarra announced on Twitter: “Next Xbox One preview build for our preview audience = soon! Like all preview builds, not all features will be in the first build we send out.”
It’s been a while since the last big update came to the console. Phil Spencer mentioned earlier in the year that we should see “Background Music” on the console in the Summer. It’s the Summer season soon for people in the Northern Hemisphere so hopefully Microsoft can implement it.
It’s likely preview members might receive something before E3 2016. Microsoft will probably use E3 2016 to drop whatever big new update is coming to the console later this year. There is also the Anniversary update to look forward to which is for both Xbox One and Windows 10 users.
A wishful new feature for the console is backwards compatibility support for original Xbox video games. The Xbox 360 had support for some older Xbox games. Microsoft may need more time to implement this as it will take a while to emulate both Xbox 360 and Xbox games on Xbox One.
